What stays on your computer

Your conversations, goals, Feed editions, ideas, the assistant's memory, your work files and your model provider keys are stored on your computer, under ~/.openclaw-clawmuse in your home folder. The app talks to its own assistant service only over your computer's local network address (127.0.0.1); nothing about it is reachable from the internet.

What leaves your computer

Three things, each to a place you chose or can switch off:

1. Messages to your model provider. What you send in chat — and the prompts ClawMuse runs for your Feed, Ideas and check-ins — goes to the AI model provider you picked (for example Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenRouter), under your own sign-in or API key and that provider's terms. If you picked a model that runs locally, such as through Ollama or LM Studio, it doesn't leave your computer at all.
2. News lookups for your Feed. To write the Feed, ClawMuse searches for headlines on Bing News — or Google News when Bing has none — using short search terms written from your goals, and shows the article pictures from Bing. Your goals themselves are not sent, only the search terms. Turn off Daily feed in Settings → Notifications to stop these lookups.
3. Sites and services you ask it to use. When you ask the assistant to browse the web or use a connector you've set up, it reaches that site or service the same way your browser would.

Crash reports and analytics

There are none in the app. It collects no usage data, and there is no mechanism in it to collect any.

Deleting your data

In ClawMuse, open Settings → Data controls → Remove ClawMuse. It stops the assistant service, deletes everything the app stored — ~/.openclaw-clawmuse, its app data, logs and login item — and removes the app itself. There's no ClawMuse account to close.

Uninstalling through Windows Settings → Apps removes the program but keeps your data, in case you reinstall. Use Remove ClawMuse to delete it.

This website

clawmuse.app uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, doesn't use local storage, and doesn't fingerprint or track you across sites; it records things like the page, the referring site, the browser type and country, in aggregate. The site has no forms and no sign-in, and it's served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect it.

Installers are downloaded from dl.clawmuse.app, which logs standard request data for downloads.

Changes

If what the app sends or stores changes, this page and the changelog will say so in the release that changes it.
